Man, I can't help thinking about how much I miss early Conan.
Back when I had no clue what I was getting into and was so excited to get through the series.
It's been quite the ride and I've had a lot of fun, but the old dark atmosphere, the way they used music or lack there of, the way they framed differences between Conan and Shinichi and the liberal use of animation was on point despite it being as old as it was.

I miss it so much.
Especially those original themes.

Come to think of it, I haven't even heard Conan's own theme in a while
Oh and Ran's theme! Ran's theme was such a highlight..

I've seen your replies quite a bit, but this is the first one I've felt genuinely compelled to respond to. *Most* episodes of modern Conan feel weak in terms of actual storytelling, so that comparison holds no weight.

Yet even if it did, the direction and atmosphere of the old Conan is what was lost with the updates made.

It lost the fantastical, dark mystique of the old episodes in favor of wide appeal and action set pieces. Which I don't mind, I'm still a Conan fan after all, but that shouldn't be underplayed. No flaws should.

Sure it had this dark feel but some of the old episodes from 1997 was kinda boring to me when I watched them that’s probably why I won’t mind some of these episodes my only issue is kinda the music honestly

I like how glasses-wearing Kojima's name is Genji (元次), and the strong-looking one's name is Bunta (文太). Guess that means there's a chance Genta's (文太の) dad is actually Genji...

Different kanji, same sound. The writer maybe want to confuse the audience about who Genta's dad
